I hold Diplomas in Counselling, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Counselling, and Certificates in several areas including the Supervision of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Working with Children, Families and Young People, Cancer Counselling, Bereavement Support, & Relationship Counselling. I regularly undertake CPD training to update my knowledge and understanding of the issues that can affect my own clients, and the clients of those whose work I supervise.
Over the years, I have worked with adults, children, teenagers, and families, in a variety of settings, including hospitals, hospices, bereavement organisations, primary & secondary schools, counselling agencies, EAP’s, the corporate sector, and in private practice.
I have supported clients with a broad range of issues and difficult life events, including cancer and other illnesses, sudden and anticipated bereavement, trauma of various kinds, relationship problems, separation & divorce, parenting, work difficulties, low mood & suicidal thoughts, self-harm, low self-esteem, & eating issues.
I have also delivered CPD training for counsellors, education, health, and social care professionals on a wide range of topics affecting the mental well-being of adults and children, including key-note speeches at conferences.
In addition, I developed an accredited training course, for counsellors wishing to qualify as supervisors. The course has been hugely successful and by delivering the training myself, it has helped to remind me of what I need to remember when I work as a supervisor!
